Carol McMurry Library Endowment Continuing Education Grants
DEADLINE: July 31, 2017
Individuals in publicly accessible libraries are eligible for competitive continuing education grants from the Carol McMurry Library Endowment. The application should be submitted to the Wyoming State Library, not to the Wyoming Community Foundation. Six grant deadlines annually; next grant deadline is July 31, 2017. “The Vietnam War” Documentary and Programming Kit
DEADLINE: August 1, 2017
In partnership with the WETA Productions, the American Library Association has developed a programming kit for The Vietnam War, a film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, for public libraries. This kit includes a programming guide and a copy of the full 18-hour documentary series on DVD, with public performance rights. Fifty U.S. public libraries will be selected through a competitive application process.

Empowering Public Libraries to Create Community History Web Archives
DEADLINE: August 25, 2017
For public librarians interested in participating in a new program of continuing education, training, and services to empower libraries to build collections of historically-valuable, web published materials documenting their local communities. Each participating library will receive the equivalent of $25,000 in web archiving services, and each librarian will receive $3,500 per year to attend cohort meetings, participate in trainings, conferences and professional development, and local events.

Libraries Ready to Code
DEADLINE: August 2017 (date not yet announced)
This grant will fund a cohort of 25-50 school and public libraries to design computational thinking and computer science programs for and with youth, including underrepresented youth. The grant application will open in late July.  To be notified when the application is open, sign up on this online form. The $500,000 program is part of Phase III of Libraries Ready to Code, an ongoing collaboration between ALA and Google to ensure library staff are prepared to develop and deliver programming that promotes computer science (CS) and computational thinking (CT) among youth.
