Thursday Sessions

1p – 1:55p – breakout sessions

General VDX – Robyn Hinds – ILL practices and ideas for an efficient workflow will be covered. The session will be a refresher for seasoned ILL staff (hopefully even learn something new!), training for new or back-up ILL staff, and allow for a Q&A portion for questions or specific issues. HS100

Customizing WYLDcat Mobile – Katie Rahman – Learn how to customize your WYLDcat app template to meet your library system’s needs including adding new tabs to your template and links to content, such as library events, calendars, and RSS feeds. HS206

Reports – Marc Stratton – We will be discussing various tips and tricks to running reports. Bring your report questions. Newbies welcome as we will cover the basics. Will discuss custom reports, how and when to request and the limitations of creating custom reports. HS214

2:00p – 2:50p – breakout sessions

VDX Extras – Robyn Hinds – Some of the lesser used and known about features in VDX will be covered. If ILL staff has ever wondered about the most requested titles, the locations most shared with, request fill time, these are all things that can be found right in VDX. There will also be opportunity for Q&A during this session as well.  HS100

Authority Update – Bobbi Thorpe – Discuss what was done during Authority Processing and what types of problems were recorded on the reports that were made available to us when the processing was completed. HS208

Enterprise – Marc Stratton – Discuss the ramifications to customizing your Enterprise profile given the move the https. Demonstration of various widgets and how they work. We will cover Online user registration and placing holds. Bring questions about look and feel. HS214

3:00p – 3:55p – breakout sessions

Digital Privacy & Security – Desiree Saunders & Kate Mutch – Learn about tools to help protect your digital privacy as well as resources for teaching library users about protecting themselves online. HS100

Analytics – Katie Rahman – Learn how to modify the report templates in Shared Reports to get the data you need in the format you want. Topics covered include filtering your report’s results (through prompts and view filters) and formatting options. I will also discuss recent additions to Shared Reports including reports that can be used for library surveys. HS206
***** This session is not hands on. Katie will offer hands on and one on one assistance during the Ask WYLD time on Friday morning.

Cataloging Update – Bobbi Thorpe – Review basic RDA tags and extended RDA tags used to get the hit list display in Workflows. Discuss other cataloging issues that arise. HS208

4:00p – 5:00p – breakout sessions
