Email Tips and Frequent Questions
Mailhost will send a reminder message once a month from each of your subscriptions (unless you have disabled it). That message will contain helpful information about the list including some of the tips below. You can also visit the list information page for useful options, such as unsubscribing from all lists at once. A list information page address looks like this : http://wyldnetwork.org/mailman/listinfo/[listname]_wyldnetwork.org
Enter the list’s name where the brackets appear:
Unsubscribe from a list by sending an email to [listname]-firstname.lastname@example.org (leave out the brackets)
*You will receive an email with a link to the unsubscribe page.
Retrieve your password by sending a message to [listname]-email@example.com
put “password” either in the subject line or body of the message.
To: firstname.lastname@example.org Subject: password
Get a list of members
Retrieve a list of members by sending a message to [listname]-email@example.com
type who followed by your password in the body of the message
*you must be a member of the list
To: firstname.lastname@example.org Subject: list who mypassword
Why don’t I see my own messages to a list?
By default, all users’ subscriptions are set to send a copy of your own posts to a list. However, Gmail users will never receive a copy of posts, as Google sees the messages as duplicates. Your message will be in your sent mail. To make sure that your message is delivered, you may wish to change your subscription status to acknowledge the receipt of your messages.
Go to your subscription management page. *Your welcome email to the list contains this link as well as your password.
Change the Receive acknowledgement mail when you send mail to the list? flag to ‘yes’
How do I find out what lists I’m on?
Visit your subscription information page and select the option to view My other wyldnetwork.org subscriptions
Your subscription link is in the welcome email, and will look similar to
http://wyldnetwork.org/mailman/options/all_wyldnetwork.org/[your email address]
How do I send a message to one of the WYLD regions?
The WYLD Region lists were not migrated to the new mail hosting service. To focus a message to a particular group, send it to email@example.com and indicate the audience in the subject line
To: firstname.lastname@example.org Subject: Author book signing - Region 4
