Engineers Week Outreach Grants
DEADLINE: November 14, 2020
The goals of this grant program are to engage youth (particularly underserved K-12 students) with hands-on learning experiences and events that inspire an interest and understanding of engineering and take place in or around Engineers Week. Due to COVID-19, in person and virtual events are eligible for funding. Grants range between $250 and $1000.

Society of American Archivists Foundation Strategic Growth Grants
DEADLINE for Letter of Inquiry: December 1, 2020
The program awards grants of between $500 and $5,000 for work that aligns with the strategic plan and/or mission and goals of the foundation, which include research and reporting about the profession, its practice, and its practitioners; development of professional growth opportunities; recognition of archivists via scholarships, travel assistance, and awards; programs designed to enhance the performance of repositories; and efforts to persuade influential external organizations to create or promote archives.

Libraries Transforming Communities: Focus on Small and Rural Libraries
DEADLINE: December 2, 2020
Up to 650 U.S. libraries in small and rural communities will receive $3,000 to tackle issues ranging from media literacy to COVID-19 safety to unemployment. The initiative is part of ALA’s longtime commitment to preparing library workers for the expanding role of libraries. Grant funds may cover a range of expenses, from hotspot purchases to personal protective equipment to staff time to undertake community engagement work.

National Friends of Libraries Week Awards
DEADLINE: December 4, 2020
The National Friends of Libraries Week Awards encourage Friends of Libraries to celebrate and promote their groups within the community. Each year, two Friends groups are awarded $250 each in honor of their celebrations during the week.

John Phillip Immroth Memorial Award
DEADLINE: December 31, 2020
The John Phillip Immroth Memorial Award, presented annually, honors notable contributions to intellectual freedom and demonstrations of personal courage in defense of freedom of expression by a living individual, group, or organization. The award consists of a citation and $500. The award is sponsored by the Intellectual Freedom Round Table of the American Library Association (ALA).

Gerald Hodges Intellectual Freedom Award
DEADLINE: January 1, 2021
The Gerald Hodges Intellectual Freedom Chapter Relations Award, presented annually, recognizes an intellectual freedom focused organization that has developed a strong multi-year, ongoing program or a single, one-year project that exemplifies support for intellectual freedom, patron confidentiality, and anti-censorship efforts. The award consists of $1,000 and a citation. The award is sponsored by the Intellectual Freedom Round Table of the American Library Association (ALA).

National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read 
DEADLINE: January 27, 2021
The NEA Big Read is a community engagement opportunity through which grants of up to $20,000 are awarded in support of community-wide reading programs (virtual and/or in-person) that take place between September 2021 and June 2022. Arts Midwest will be hosting a webinar for interested applicants on November 12 at 11:00 a.m. MST. (Registration required.)

Believe in Reading Grants for Literacy Programs
DEADLINE: Ongoing
Believe in Reading will consider funding programs that serve any age or aspect of supporting reading and literacy, including adult literacy or English as a second language projects.
