Meet our State Librarian

Abby Beaver

Abby Beaver was appointed State Librarian in January 2024 by the Director of the Wyoming Department of Administration and Information. Abby brings a wealth of experience, both at the Wyoming State Library and beyond.

Abby’s journey started as a Coe Library student employee while attending the University of Wyoming. Beginning in inter-library loan, she worked her way up from there to circulation, student supervisor, and ultimately to evening supervisor. In 2008, Abby moved on from Coe to work at UW’s George Hopper Law Library while earning her Master’s in Library Science from Clarion University (2010). In 2011, Abby became a librarian at Sheridan College and eventually moved to Cheyenne in 2016 when she began working for the Wyoming State Library, serving as Information Services Manager for nearly eight years.

During her time at the Wyoming State Library Abby has given back to the library community, serving as the Wyoming Library Association’s Vice-President and President from 2018-2021.
