On December 7, 1941, Japanese aircraft attacked the naval station at Pearl Harbor, drawing the United States into World War II.

President Roosevelt went on the radio to address the country about what had and was, transpiring. You can find the transcript and audio of Roosevelt’s December 9, 1941, fireside chat in U. S. History (Gale in Context) in GoWYLD.net. Find this database under our History subject area.

To locate the record, search (in quotes) “Fireside Chat on the Declaration of War on Japan.” For reference, images, and magazine and journal items, search Pearl Harbor AND World War II.
