Public Library Association Conference Scholarships
DEADLINE: November 12, 2023 at 10:59 p.m. MST
The Public Library Association (PLA) is offering 50 scholarships to attend the PLA 2024 Conference. Scholarships will cover registration fees, travel stipends, and one year of PLA membership. Scholarships are available to support applicants who belong to at least one of the following categories: early career (i.e., fewer than five years) or un/under-employed (annual salary less than $45,000); students pursuing a master’s degree in library and/or information science (i.e., MLS, MLIS, MIS); working in small or rural libraries (i.e., serving communities with fewer than 25,000 people); current or past Spectrum Scholars working in public libraries; and ALA ethnic affiliate members (i.e., members of the Joint Council of Librarians of Color).
Society of American Archivists Foundation Strategic Growth Grants
DEADLINE: LOIs due November 15, 2023
The SAA Foundation Board awards grants that meet the mission and goals of the Foundation and/or the strategic planning priorities of the Society of American Archivists. Grants typically range from $500 to $5,000, although the SAA Foundation will consider larger funding requests that could have an unusual impact on the profession.
The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries

Provides funds to the nation’s neediest schools so that they can extend, update, and diversify the book and print collections in their libraries with the goal of encouraging students to develop a love of reading and learning.
Carol McMurry Library Endowment Individual Grants for Continuing Education
DEADLINE: November 30, 2023
Want to attend a conference or workshop to build your library skills? Take an online course? Start working toward that library media specialist endorsement or master’s degree in library science? Funds are available to those working or volunteering in Wyoming libraries through the Carol McMurry Library Endowment Individual Grants for Continuing Education. Applications are accepted six times during the year. The next deadline is November 30, 2023, for continuing education events starting no earlier than January 1, 2024.
Rocky Mountain Power Foundation Grants
DEADLINE: December 15, 2023
The foundation will award grants for addiction, disability resources, disaster relief, domestic violence, first responders, food insecurity, healthcare accessibility, homeless support, mental health, public safety initiatives, veteran organizations, wellness and preventative care.. Grants generally are less than $10,000 with most between $2,000 and $5,000.
Save America’s Treasures Collection Grants
DEADLINE: December 19, 2023
Save America’s Treasures is a National Park Service grant program in collaboration with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. This grant program supports the preservation of nationally significant historic properties and collections and requires a dollar-for-dollar match.
Latino Poetry Project
DEADLINE: January 5, 2024
Grants of $1,200 are available to libraries and other public institutions for programs exploring Latino poetry and its ongoing relevance to American national life. Grants may be used for: honoraria for local poets and scholars; travel expenses; actor/performer fees; publicity and promotion; refreshments; or other costs associated with programs.
Stephen T. Riedner Grant for Life Enhancing Library Programs for People Living with Dementia
DEADLINE: February 23, 2024
Citation and a grant of $2,500 each to two libraries to support the creation of new services and/or new programming to directly serve those living with dementia. Applications that describe only existing services or programming are not eligible for this grant. Applicants do not need to be a member of ALA.
