The Johnson County Library in Buffalo, Wyoming, hosted a plant press workshop, in cooperation with local US Forest Service staff, as part of their adult summer programing on June 5th.
District Ranger, Thad Berrett, and Botanist, Beth Davidson, talked about why someone might want to press plants, things to consider when choosing plants to press, as well as good plant gathering etiquette.
The USFS donated plant presses for our patrons to keep and brought in some freshly picked wildflowers from the Bighorn Mountains. Participants were able to enjoy some hands-on learning pressing flowers using the plants and presses provided.
The Johnson County Libraries includes locations in both Buffalo, Wyoming, and Kaycee, Wyoming. See their website for more information on their programs for patrons of all ages.
