In a staggering turn of events, the GoWYLD online resource portal—popularly known for digital resources, including e-books, audiobooks, research databases and genealogy tools—has become the center of a global literary frenzy.
Yesterday, a middle-school librarian in Laramie serendipitously uncovered a series of previously unknown, digitized Ernest Hemingway manuscripts and photographs tucked away in a mislabeled directory database within the platform’s Literature Resource Center. Ms. Brett Ashley exclaimed, “These digital scans appear to be lost drafts from Hemingway’s time spent in the Sunlight Basin near Cody.”
Traffic to GoWYLD.net has reached such heights that the Wyoming State Library’s digital infrastructure had to be bolstered overnight.
While thousands are hunting for literary gold, local Wyomingites are rediscovering the platform’s free access to everything from e-learning tools to student research databases. State library staff have reminded residents that while these newly discovered “Hemingway Files” are currently under official review, their library card remains the “most valuable piece of plastic in their wallet.” Wyoming residents can contact their local library to get a free library card.
