Alta Hepner Leaving Wyoming State Library

Jun 17, 2015

alta-web-resAlta Hepner, Access Services Library Technician, is moving on to a new opportunity after nearly 20 years working at the Wyoming State Library. Her last day is Friday, June 19.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here, and I’m going to miss everybody,” she said.

Hepner has worked in both access services and acquisitions since first joining the State Library as a temporary Manpower employee in August 1995 and becoming a permanent state employee in April 1996. Most recently, she has been working in access services with maps, newspapers and WyDOCs processing. She has also been working with the WYLD office on special database projects.

She started working in libraries in high school where she worked at the Pine Bluffs library her senior year in the afternoon with Addy McDowell. She was also close to Bunny Jones who was the high school librarian.

Hepner obtained a freight broker’s license in June through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. As a freight broker, she will connect companies needing freight hauled with semi drivers. She looks forward to traveling, which her new job will allow her to do.
