COSLA Launches Public Library Director 101 Series

Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA) has launched a Public Library Director 101 video training series, complete with learner guide and resources for each module.

The four free, on-demand recordings introduces the many and unique facets of public library directorship for those who are new to the position or who are considering stepping into that role:

  • Your New Role discusses ethics, values, and leadership.
  • Community Relations introduces marketing, public relations, and outreach from the director perspective.
  • Planning and Project Management discusses essential steps in the strategic planning process, the benefits of strategic planning, and tools for successful project management.
  • Asset Management discussed managing the varied assets of library systems, including staff, buildings, collections, and budget.
