Thirty-one days left in the year. 2018 is rapidly approaching its conclusion and if you’re like most of us, the year has gone by in a blur.

For our December GoWYLD mini-marketing kit, we thought it might be nice to feature something a little different for the Christmas season. Kids know all about the history associated with Santa Claus, so why not encourage them to take a look at the tastes and traditions of other cultures?

Take a spin through CultureGrams and while you’re exploring, check out the festive recipes included for each country, state, and province. For example:

  • Jamaica: Christmas Cake
  • New Zealand: Pavlova
  • Slovakia: Buchty
  • Zambia: Pineapple Chutney
  • Newfoundland and Labrador: Figgy Duff with Molasses Coady

And don’t forget to check out the downloadable resources. It’s all good stuff.

Libraries should have received their mini-marketing kit by email to promote this resource to patrons. You can also find the kit on our web page under Information for Librarians.

If you would like to be either added to or removed from our monthly email list for the mini-marketing kits, contact Susan Mark at susan.mark@wyo.gov or (307) 777-5915.
