Performance Goals for Government Services (DigitalGov)
The U.S. Federal Emerging Technology monthly meeting serves as an active reporting and collaboration session designed to share knowledge and forge consensus to build shared resources for emerging technologies for government services including Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Blockchain, and Social Technology. This meeting is for government employees.

Level Up Your Makerspace (edWeb)
In this edWebinar, we will explore new tools, techniques, project ideas, and best practices to engage your young makers. You’ll learn how this makerspace director and educator has grown his makerspace and offerings over the years, and get tons of new ideas to take back to your makerspace.

Blockchains for the Information Profession (San Jose State University iSchool)
The format for this live-streamed event will include panel presentations and discussions from notable experts in the information professions, business, government, and urban planning.  They will focus on suggested blockchain applications that might be employed by libraries and archives.  The day’s proceedings will be live-streamed and participants will have the opportunity to submit questions and comments. The Blockchain National Forum will be livestreamed and recorded.

From making sure their dietary needs are met to paying them efficiently, there’s more to booking an author than just deciding on a date. NCompass Live: Ditching Dewey: How we converted from Dewey to BISAC and lived to tell about it (Nebraska Library Commission)
Parchment Community Library was encountering more and more adults who had never been taught the Dewey Decimal Classification system in school. They wanted their collection to be easily browsed, so in about 18 months, they converted from DDC to BISAC call numbers. Learn how their staff completed this challenging task – “at times we felt that we were trying to draw a map while driving full-speed down the road” – and hear how their patrons have reacted to the new system.

Creating a Comprehensive and Engaging Volunteer Training Program (VolunteerMatch)
What do your volunteers need to know to be successful? This webinar will start with the basics and help you understand how to determine what information you should be sharing with your volunteers, and how that can be used to create a curriculum. We’ll then discuss how to present this information in a variety of ways using different delivery methods that appeal to adult learners. Assessing what your volunteers have learned, and creating ongoing training and professional development training for your volunteers will also be covered.
