Info2Go! Library Programming in the Great Outdoors (Idaho Commission for Libraries)
One of the best parts about living in Idaho is access to outdoor recreation. Libraries in our state find new and innovative ways to take their programs and services outside to take advantage of Idaho’s unique environment. During this Info2Go session, we will hear from the Twin Falls Public Library and Donnelly Public Library about how they have moved their programming outside. Michelle Youngquist, from Project Learning Tree, will also share resources for Idaho library staff to learn more about the outdoors and help plan high-quality outdoor programming.

Indigenous Educational Practices In The SLIFE Classroom: Cultural Relevance To Build Academic Learning (Saddleback Educational Publishing)
Many students with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE) come from Indigenous oral cultures that approach learning in ways that are distinctly different from those favored in Western education. We will explore patterns in how education has traditionally been conducted in oral Indigenous cultures of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and elsewhere. The discussion will focus on common values that Indigenous cultures consider paramount in education, as well as practical suggestions for how Indigenous pedagogical techniques and strategies could be implemented in classrooms to maximize SLIFE academic learning and sense of belonging.

Join us to hear more about how these creators make fantastical worlds for LGBTQ+ readers to immerse themselves in as well as how librarians can find queer graphic novel and manga content and position them in their libraries.
