Join colleagues to learn and discuss ways libraries are fostering a culture of well-being at work by creating policies and practices that empower staff to make choices that improve their health! A CORE e-forum, “Well-being in the Workplace – Creating a Healthy Work Environment in Libraries” is being offered Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.
The e-Forum will focus on the seven aspects of workplace well-being:
- Physical environment
- Mental and emotional well-being
- Workload and job design
- Supportive leadership
- Recognition; and appreciation
- Flexibility and work-life balance
- Clear communication and transparency
- Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
Participants will exit the forum able to:
- List ways workplace improvement benefit staff members.
- Describe ways to use recognition and appreciation to improve staff wellbeing and how these methods impact productivity.
- Explain ways managers can build stranger teams.
- Summarize how flexible work schedules contribute to work-life balance.
Margie Sheppard, University of Kansas Medical Center; Debra Trogdon-Livingston, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC); and Bobbi Neman, Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist at Region 6 of the Network of the National Library of Medicine at the University of Iowa Libraries will be hosting this event.
