Free Film and Video Collection Webinar

Apr 9, 2024

Librarians are in a unique position to provide timely film programming and curate captivating film collections for their communities. To support librarians in this endeavor, Video Trust has been holding a series of free monthly webinars regarding best practices for selecting films for diverse audience, overcoming budget-related issues and other hurdles, and building robust collections of video.

The third event in this series, “How Distributors Select and Support ‘Movies that Matter,” will be held Thursday, April 18 at 12:00 PM (MDT) and will explore the world of film curation. Representatives from Academic Video Online (AVON), Swank, Pragda, Documentary Educational Resources (DER), and Women Make Movies (WMM) will talk about the criteria behind selecting impactful cinema for educational distribution. Delve into the challenges of ensuring inclusivity, representation, and navigating the balance between artistic merit, social impact, and market value.
