Did you know Wyoming saw the most library visits per person in the entire nation during Fiscal Year 2022? That’s quite the accomplishment for the lowest populated state! How about the 150% decrease in library visits during the COVID pandemic that led to a 99% increase in total item circulation during that same time?Looking at statistics can be confusing, overwhelming, and, let’s face it—boring. Let’s talk about the power of storytelling with library data!
The Wyoming State Library will host a free webinar, Share Your Why: Storytelling with Statistics, on Wednesday, December 3 at 10:30 a.m. This webinar will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of library statistics, including crucial data points, data collection methods, and analysis techniques to assess library performance, make informed decisions, write stronger grant proposals, and communicate your library’s impact to stakeholders.
For those who missed it, or would like to see it again, this is a slightly modified version of the Share Your Joy: Storytelling with Library Statistics session presented at the Wyoming Library Association Conference in September 2025. A recording will be sent out to registrants and available on the Wyoming State Library’s YouTube page after the event.
