Although June just started last week, the Fremont County Libraries, located in Dubois, Lander, and Riverton, have already been busy hosting fun summer events for patrons of all ages.
Their first summer events included a combination of art and astronomy for adult patrons and a family-friendly foam party for children and families. many other activities are planned throughout the summer. Each location has fun programming planned for kids, teens, and adults to learn from and enjoy. Check out each location’s event calendar for more information.
Art in the Sky participants enjoyed learning valuable information and creating beautiful works of art.
The Adult Services Department at the Lander Library kicked off its 2024 Summer Reading Program on Tuesday, June 4th in partnership with Sinks Canyon State Park. Patrons joined the FCL for an educational evening of learning about Sinks Canyon’s new DarkSky International status that encourages community members to keep the Sinks (and Wyoming!) skies dark to better the environment for ourselves and wildlife. Attendees then tried their hand at creating their own dark sky masterpieces with watercolor and salt—all creating stunning works of art reminiscent of the skies in our own backyard!
Dozens of kids and families came to the FCLS’s Youth Services Foam Party kickoff event.
The younger FCL patrons had the opportunity to celebrate the beginning of summer with a foam party. The FCL’s Youth Services Summer Reading Kick-Off Foam Party took place on May 29. Kids and families had a blast catching the foam projected from a large tube overhead and laughing and playing together as the foam collected around them.
These are the first of the many exciting summer reading adventures planned at the Fremont County Libraries. The summer is off to a great start!
