Each year, Frankenstein Day on August 30 marks the birthday of the book’s author, Mary Shelley. Want to learn more about her or other notable figures? GoWYLD can help!
There are several databases in GoWYLD where you can find biographies. Try out Biography In Context, Britannica Library, African American Biographical Database, or Literature Online. For example, search for Mary Shelley in Biography (Gale In Context). Here you’ll find a comprehensive biography, some quick facts, and links to additional biographies and to magazine, journal, and news articles.
For an introduction to this resource, click on the Tutorials tab on the far right side of GoWYLD.net. This will access the Niche Academy tutorial under Gale In Context: Biography. You can find tutorials for many other GoWYLD resources here as well.
GoWYLD resources are available for free at your library or from anywhere by logging in with a library card and PIN. For more information about the databases, training, or marketing materials, contact Chris Van Burgh, Wyoming State Library Database Instruction Librarian, chris.vanburgh@wyo.gov.
