The GPO has published a revised edition of Keeping America Informed: The U.S. Government Publishing Office: A Legacy of Service to the Nation, 1861-2016. This edition describes GPO’s rich history and transformation over the past 155 years and the ways that GPO continually adapted over the years, starting with lead type and the “ink-on-paper” era during GPO’s first days in 1861, all the way up to GPO’s incorporation of electronic information technologies in the present day.
