Carol McMurry Library Endowment Individual Grants for Continuing Education
Deadline: Sept. 30, 2016
Want to attend a conference or workshop to build your library skills? Take an online course? Start working toward that library media specialist endorsement or master’s degree in library science? Funds are available to those working or volunteering in Wyoming libraries through the Carol McMurry Library Endowment Individual Grants for Continuing Education. Applications are accepted six times during the year. The next deadline is Sept. 30 for continuing education events starting no earlier than Nov. 1.

American Library Association Scholarship Program
Deadline: March 1, 2017
The American Library Association (ALA) has more than $300,000 available to students who are studying in library science or school library media programs at the master’s degree level. Scholarships range from $1,500 to $7,000 per student per year.  Applicants must attend either a master’s level program in library and information science that has been accredited by the ALA or a program that meets ALA curriculum guidelines for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Carnegie-Whitney Grant
Deadline: Nov. 6,  2016
The American Library Association Publishing Committee provides grants of up to $5,000 for the preparation of print or electronic reading lists, indexes or other guides to library resources that promote reading or the use of library resources at any type of library.

SaveOnEnergy Teacher Grants
Deadline: Oct. 21, 2016
SaveOnEnergy.com® is looking for for the best lesson plans for teaching students about energy or sustainability. They will award six $500 grants to be used toward classroom materials and activities. Grant recipients’ lesson plans will be featured on the website for other teachers to utilize as resources for their own classrooms. Lesson plans can range in subject and creativity, as long as they meet the grant criteria and students are engaged and encouraged to learn about energy.
