The Sweetwater County (Wyoming) Library System is seeking a full-time library director who will be responsible for the administration and management of the library system.
This person will work collaboratively with the Library Board and a dedicated team of about 48 regular staff members to provide library services to the 43,000 residents of Sweetwater County through six rural branch libraries; 2 libraries in Rock Springs; 1 library (headquarters) in Green River; and a Community Fine Arts Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library, including representing the Library within the community, supervising the staff, and managing the library.
The ideal candidate will have a MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited program and five years of professional library experience with progressive administrative responsibilities. Other relevant advanced degrees may be considered if coupled with appropriate extensive experience in administration of a library or library system. Excellent leadership and communication skills, a visionary perspective, innovative approaches to organizing and problem-solving, knowledge of library trends and technology, and the ability to foster a cohesive library team are a must.
This FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) exempt position has a starting salary of $89k per year. Benefits include health insurance, dental & vision insurance, Wyoming retirement, paid vacation/ sick leave and holidays.
