The UW library system is a major research library in the Rocky Mountain region, housing almost 2 million volumes in six locations on the Laramie campus and employing 51 FTE faculty and professional staff, 21 FTE paraprofessional staff, and 19 FTE student workers. The Libraries serve a student population of about 12,841 at the Laramie campus as well as elsewhere around the state. The Libraries are active members in the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, the Greater Western Library Alliance and other consortia. The Libraries are recognized as critical to the University’s missions of teaching, research, public service, and outreach.
