May is Mental Health Awareness Month and we would like to point you to resources on GoWYLD.net that can offer reliable information and ideas.
MedlinePlus is part of the GoWYLD.net suite and comes to us free from the National Library of Medicine, a part of the National Institutes of Health. In this resource you will find information on specific health issues and medical tests and procedures, health topics, drugs and supplements, genetics, and a medical encyclopedia. Also included are animated health videos, health check tools, and interactive health games.
There are topic pages that focus on Child, Teen, and Older Adult Mental Health . The page, How to Improve Mental Health, provides ideas and links to resources from Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, Mental Health America, National Institutes of Health, and others (most of them available in Spanish).
At the bottom of the main page, there are links for Easy-to-Read Materials and Health Information in Multiple Languages.
Find this and other Health & Medicine resources on GoWYLD.net under subjects. This will take you to a guide that also links to Support Materials and tutorials for Medline Plus.
MedlinePlus is available via GoWYLD.net in all libraries, schools, and from home. You will not need a library card and PIN to access. For more information please contact your local library or Chris Van Burgh, Wyoming State Library Database Instruction Librarian, chris.vanburgh@wyo.gov.
