Have you heard? Wyoming Places has a new and improved map and updated search guides! Click on “Search Wyoming Places” to begin your virtual exploration of historic cities, parks, and sites across the state. Follow the trail of the Pony Express, locate over 300 features in Yellowstone National Park, study Wyoming battlefields, and more. Wyoming Places is a great tool for teachers, students, and libraries, and is accessible from any computer with an internet connection.

If you’ve never used Wyoming Places before, you may want to first read the Quick Guide to Using the Wyoming Places Database found at the “Search Tips PDF Download” button on the homepage, and if you find yourself virtually lost, the same PDF guide also contains the Advanced Wyoming Places Search Tips to guide you on your way!

When you’re done adventuring, take a gander at the Wyoming Places, People and Things Facebook page to share your findings, discover new historic facts, and follow along with This Day in Wyoming History stories, administered by the Wyoming State Library.
