Online Training ‘At Your Leisure’

Apr 3, 2020

In addition to the live webinars in our training calendar, each month we try to pick some videos out there that you can watch “At Your Leisure.” These on-demand offerings caught our attention for April:

Sessions presented at the 2019 AASL National Conference (American Association of School Librarians)
Sessions focused on the 2018 National School Library Standards, giving school librarians and other educator attendees an opportunity to dig deep into the guiding document of the profession. (American Association of School Librarians)

All Library 2.0 Webinars With Dr. Steve Albrecht are FREE until April 30 by registering as a Library 2.0 member. Membership is free.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten (Montana State Library)
The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is an easy way to encourage families to read and help young children develop their early literacy skills by setting a goal for kiddos to read 1000 books before heading off to kindergarten. Not only is it fun for families and kids to participate in, it’s easy for libraries to set up and run!

Connect Your Students to eBooks, Audiobooks and eResources in MackinVIA (Mackin)
This webinar was conducted by Mackin Director of Digital Services, Mesa Heise, and Frisco Independent School District High School Librarian, Nancy Jo Lambert, on October 23, 2019.

Making the Most of Your Digital Collection (School Library Connection)
Research has shown that eBooks and audiobooks circulate more when librarians follow a clear plan to promote them in the school community. Join this webinar to learn creative and effective strategies for spreading the word about your digital collection and make sure those great resources get used!
