Aaron Volner, Sweetwater County Library System young adult librarian, was presented with a “Friends of Education” award from the Sweetwater Education Association in May. The library system also received a “Friends of Education” award.
Tyler G. Cline, digital archivist at the American Heritage Center, recently had an article published in the Journal of Contemporary Archival Studies: “The Wild West No More: Preserving 40 Years of Electronic Records at the University of Wyoming American Heritage Center.” In the summer of 2014, the AHC undertook a project to migrate all born-digital records to a secure server, creating the means to provide access to the material. In the article, Cline explores the project which largely eliminated the backlog of born-digital collection material and made those records available for use to all.

Jo Elliott, Story Branch Manager for the Sheridan County Public Library System, is retiring after 13 years at the library. She will leave at the end of June to spend more time with family (including the grandkids). She began working at the Story Library on July 1, 2003 after “retiring” from teaching in Alaska.
Nancy Venable has joined Campbell County Public Library System as extension services manager at the library in Gillette. She replaced Pat Brose who retired in December. Venable has worked as a public librarian in the Big Horn County and Sweetwater County Library Systems following 20 years as a teacher and school librarian in Montana, Nevada, and Washington. She’s already hard at work interviewing new library pages, planning the annual CCPLS volunteer appreciation event, and leading book discussions at local retirement communities.
