Three Wyoming librarians and Wyoming Library Association members — Judi Boyce, Betsy O’Neil, and Angela Jordan — attended the Mountain Plains Library Association Leadership Institute that was held May 7-12 in Estes Park. A fourth Wyoming librarian, Katrina Brown (also a member of WLA) was selected but was unable to attend. Institute participants are selected through a competitive process. By attending, the three learned how to identify their leadership strengths and how to grow those strengths to benefit their workplaces, larger library community, and their local communities. This is just one of the many benefits of professional library organizations, and we look forward to seeing how their leadership skills grow. You can read more about Judi, Betsy, Angela, Katrina, and the rest of this year’s MPLA Leadership Institute cohort in the organization’s latest newsletter.
