A search of ProQuest Newspapers for New Year’s Eve recipes will bring up everything from cocktail recipes from top bars around the country (2017), a herring salad from 1952, a Jambon au Porto from a 1979 New York Times, or how to make Hoppin’ John (1936 Washington Post).

The close to 55,000 search results can be narrowed down using the limiters on the left side. Since ProQuest Newspapers includes historical papers, you can view results back to 1815. You can also limit to document type and then advertisements.
