Scholarships and facilitator opportunities are available for the 2023 Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL). The event takes place July 23-26, 2023 in Madison, Wisconsin.
What is RIPL? It’s an immersive, bootcamp-style event for public library staff and others interested in public library data and evaluation to learn practical, strategic methods of gathering, analyzing, and using data for planning, management, and communicating impact. Scholarships
Up to $16,000 in scholarships is available to participate in the event, funded by the Embedding Evaluation in Libraries: Developing Internal Evaluators initiative through its Institute of Museum and Library Services grant. This scholarship opportunity is open to a) staff working in small and rural public libraries in the United States, and b) public library staff and LIS students in US programs who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Middle Eastern or North African, and/or Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander. Facilitators
Up to 12 people will be selected to serve as facilitators at the event. Both RIPL alumni and those who are new to the event are welcome to apply. Facilitators will receive a discount on the registration fee. Learn more. The application deadline is November 19, 2022.
