USA.gov and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offer a variety of resources related to health, education, housing and more.

The Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs have compiled a list of free smartphone apps to address common issues such as sleep, stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Mindfulness Coach App, The Virtual Hope Box, Life Armor, and The 311VET are a few of the 28 apps listed on a convenient PDF, or visit the VA App Store for additional suggestions.

The IRS and Consumer Finance Protection Bureau provide lists of resources specific to veterans’ finances including the G.I. Bill, loans, scams, and taxes.

Last month, a dedication ceremony for the Cheyenne National Cemetery was held. This is Wyoming’s first national cemetery and will eventually have space for over 7,000 burials. Veterans and their families can find more information related to burial benefits including eligibility, headstones/markers, and military funeral honors on the VA National Cemetery Administration website.

Remember to take time to thank the veterans you know for their military service and acknowledge the sacrifices they and their families have made.
