Stories and Songs in Spanish at Sweetwater County Libraries

Mar 29, 2024

The young library patrons of Sweetwater County now have the option of attending library story time in either English or Spanish. The White Mountain Library in Rock Springs started their new Cuentos y Cantos (Stories and Songs) program in March. The program, which is organized like a story time program and done completely in Spanish, is coordinated by youth librarian Mariza Salguero. Mariza started at the library in January.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to bring Spanish story time to our library,” Mariza said. “Having a Spanish story time helps us foster a relationship with our Spanish speaking patrons and lets others learn from them as well. We are so excited to see what we can do with this program and how we can better serve our community!”
In addition to the Cuentos y Cantos program, the Sweetwater Library System offers a variety of activities for patrons of all ages.  Find more information and their event calendar here.
