Sydni Harris recently joined the Wyoming State Library team as Collections Technician. Her first day was October 20.

“I wanted to stay in Wyoming and be able to work in a library setting,” Sydni said. “I’m very lucky that I found a job that fits all my interests.”

In her role, Sydni will assist in the preservation and processing of library materials added to or removed from the State Library’s collection. Primarily, she’ll be supporting the Digital Initiatives Specialist by digitizing state publications and adding metadata to the Wyoming State Library Digital Collection Suite.

“It’s an amazing place to be,” she said of her experience at the State Library so far. “Everybody is so friendly and helpful.” She hopes to advance her career and education as a State of Wyoming employee.

“We’re very pleased to have Sydni join our team,” said Abby Beaver, Information Services Manager. “She’s already fitting in and shows an eagerness to learn everything she can to support our library.”
