Three members of the Wyoming State Library’s WYLD Support team attended AspenCon last week in Golden, Colorado. The event was hosted by ByWater Solutions, a company that offers Aspen Discovery, which is a full-featured Open Source Discovery System that combines libraries’ catalogs with e-content, digital archives, and enrichment from third-party providers. During the conference, the team heard from speakers from across the country about how libraries are using Aspen’s products, software integration, and information technology problem-solving as it applies to libraries, and contributed insight for future products and services. Although the unpredictable March weather posed a challenge, the team was able to gain valuable knowledge to apply to their work at the WSL serving our Wyoming libraries and patrons.

“Attending the inaugural AspenCon in beautiful Golden, CO, was truly enriching. We engaged with fellow libraries utilizing Aspen, alongside the Aspen support team, gaining valuable insights,” said Cori Hundley, the WSL’s Systems Librarian. “We acquired innovative ideas to enhance our library services and better serve both our libraries and their patrons. Witnessing the evolving trajectory of the Aspen catalog was exciting, and we look forward to its future developments.”
