Thomas Ivie, Research and Statistics Librarian, has been named as the new state data coordinator for Wyoming, moving from the State Library’s Access Services office to Library Development (LDO). He will continue to head up Wyoming Newspapers, one of the six state-specific resources available in the Wyoming State Library Digital Collections.

As part of LDO, he will manage public and school library surveys conducted by the Wyoming State Library, provide data services to libraries and represent Wyoming nationally in the Public Library Statistics Cooperative. He will also work with the state’s 13 institution libraries.

“I’m glad to still be very involved with Wyoming Newspapers, but at the same time, I’m looking forward to this new challenge because of the positive impact LDO has on Wyoming’s libraries,” he said. “We are glad to help libraries and hope Wyoming librarians will call us any time.”

Thomas has been a librarian at the Wyoming State Library for over 1 1/2 years . His work in libraries spans over 20 years in state, academic, school, and public libraries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business, a master’s in public administration from the University of Idaho and a Master of Science in library and information science from the University of North Texas.

For questions on Wyoming Newspapers or on library or community statistics, Thomas may be reached at thomas.ivie@wyo.gov or 307-777-6330.
