Training Resources for GoWYLD

May 6, 2020

With physical services limited at this time, it’s more important than ever that Wyoming library workers know how to help their patrons navigate the numerous electronic resources in GoWYLD.net.

There are several places to find training tools for staff. The Wyoming State Library maintains a collection of video recordings on our Webinars Index page that explore the GoWYLD.net databases. One recent addition you might want to check out is GoWYLD from the Staff Side: From Stats to Widgets. This webinar reviews where to find database statistics and announcements, FAQ’s about access, database product information and marketing tools, guides and handouts, and so much more!

Tutorials from the State Library and from vendors are linked in the GoWYLD.net Subject Guides. Click into any of the numerous guides and look for the Tutorials tab on the left.

Niche Academy offers quick introductions to some of the most popular resources. Look for the Tutorials slider bar on the far right of the GoWYLD.net home page.

A Database Skills Checklist has been created by the WYLD Training Committee and provides a list of basic and intermediate competencies for staff.

Contact Database Instruction Librarian Chris Van Burgh at chris.vanburgh@wyo.gov or (307) 777-3642 if you have any questions. While the State Library might be  closed to walk-ins right now, Chris and the rest our WSL staff are still here to help!
