Reading and learning can happen anywhere and everywhere, and though physical books are great, there are so many other ways to read that can be just as captivating and meet your needs. Many people enjoy reading e-books on their digital device to save space while traveling or to have the ability to change the font size for easier accessibility. Some readers enjoy listening to e-audiobooks while they drive or exercise. Animated books can bring picture books to life and can engage even the most reluctant reader with their fun sound effects and movement.
Thankfully, as a Wyoming library cardholder you not only have access to the physical materials housed in your library, but thousands of e-books, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines through our virtual libraries.
Let’s Ride!
The virtual libraries on GoWYLD give you the freedom to borrow media to listen to, read, or watch using any of your digital devices–all free of charge. Libby, provided courtesy of the University of Wyoming, and Tumblebooks and TeenBookCloud, provided by the Wyoming State Library, each offer unique resources for those who prefer to consume their reading material digitally.
You can enjoy thousands of e-books, e-audiobooks, and digital magazines with Libby by visiting the database online or by downloading the Libby app to your digital device. Libby will even sync your borrowed materials across your devices, including your progress, bookmarks, and notes. For listening on the go, Libby will work with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or a Bluetooth connection. If you know you’ll be without an internet connection for awhile but would still like to access your ebooks and audiobooks, you can download them for continued offline access. E-books can be sent directly to your Kindle or other e-reader device so you can read on whatever device you prefer. If you have any technical issues, you can always contact the Wyoming library where your library card is registered for assistance.
