‘What in the World?’ at Centennial Branch Library

University of Wyoming students and faculty members will give three presentations during the sixth annual “What in the World?” summer program at the Albany County Public Library Centennial branch. All discussions are free and open to the public. The sessions, moderated by Jean Garrison, UW Center for Global Studies (CGS) director, highlight the work that recent UW graduates completed for their international research projects and the innovative research of UW-affiliated faculty:

All events begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Centennial Branch Library:

  • Wednesday, May 23: student international fieldwork presentations/posters: Alexander Garcia-Putnam, an anthropology doctoral student from Laramie, “Research at the Callacpuma Prehistory Project in Peru”; Cecile Gleizes, an international studies master’s degree candidate from Laramie, “Internationalization of Chinese Higher Education”; Nina Radovanovic, an American studies master’s degree student from Serbia, “Youth Migration from the Balkans to the United States: A Case of Work and Travel and Au Pair”; and Misty Springer, a Las Vegas master’s degree candidate in public administration, “Sex Trafficking at a Crossroads in the Republic of Georgia.”
  • Wednesday, July 11: faculty research presentation: Susan Dewey, UW associate professor in the School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice, “Wyoming Pathways from Prison: An Internationally Replicable University-Community Partnership Model.”
  • Wednesday, August 15: faculty research presentation: Tanja Börzel and Thomas Risse, both from Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science, Freie Universität Berlin, “The World in Turmoil: Illiberal Challenges to the International Order.”
