  • Emergency Quarters by Carlos Matias and Gracey Zhang-A young fellow’s first foray into independence and financial responsibility (with a side of fragrant foods!)
  • Flat Cat by by Tara Lazar and Pete Oswald-A fun frolic with a feline who learns that both flat and fluffy can be fantastic
  • Jumper: A Day in the Life of a Backyard Jumping Spider by Jessica Lanan-A jolly jaunt across a backyard “jungle” through the (eight!) eyes of a jumping spider
  • Moo Hoo by by Audrey Perrott and Ross Burach-The emotional saga of a sensitive bovine and his search for sincere friendship
  • My Dog Just Speaks Spanish by by Andrea Cáceres-An adorable anecdote about a bilingual girl teaching English to her monolingual pet
  • Pretty Ugly by by David Sedaris and Ian Falconer-A fearsomely funny piece of fiction about facades, family, and finding inner beauty
  • The Search for the Giant Arctic Jellyfish by Chloe Savage-A scientist’s sedulous search for the majestic and elusive medusa of the Arctic Sea
  • Stranded! A Mostly True Story from Iceland by Ævar Þór Benediktsson and Anne Wilson-A temporarily terrifying, but true tale of two scientists and their tenacious trials and triumphs with a temperamental volcano
  • Ursula Upside Down by Ryan T. Higgins-The chronicle of a catfish’s confusion, consolation, and regained confidence

Learn more about Wyoming Reads at wyomingreads.org. Every year through Wyoming Reads, the Sue Jorgensen Library Foundation gives thousands of first-graders a book of their very own to keep and cherish. The Wyoming State Library’s Central Acquisitions Program acquires these books at discounts up to 40 percent, stretching precious dollars so more books can be delivered to grateful young readers. Over 100,000 books have been distributed to Wyoming first-graders since the program’s inception.
