The person in this position will keep the Wyoming library community, state government employees and general public informed of relevant information that may include:
- News from the WSL and Wyoming libraries statewide
- Training and grant opportunities
- Program ideas, funding and fundraising
- Local and national initiatives
- Governance and intellectual freedom topics
- Collection development and reference resources
Other important duties will include:
- Managing grants from applications support and project management to evaluation and final reports
- Promoting libraries, library services, literacy and special events through the development of daily blogs, monthly newsletters, press releases and social media posts
- Updating website content including library news, jobs and our libraries directory
- Producing library development and training documentation
- Answering both basic and complex reference inquiries
- Monitoring and sharing (internally) news related to state and national library issues
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS). Preference will be given to applicants with a degree or experience in libraries, journalism, or nonprofit management.
