Wyoming high school students in grades 9-12 have until December 4, 2015 to enter this year’s Letters About Literature contest. Students in grades 4-8 may enter until the postmark deadline of January 11, 2016.

The contest invites students to read a book by their favorite author (past or present), be inspired, and write a letter to that author about how his or her work influenced the student’s life. Judging will take place at both the state and national levels, and cash prizes will be awarded. Wyoming winners receive $150 for first place, $100 for second, and $50 for third.

See www.wyominglibraries.org/read-be-inspired-write-back.html for guidelines and teaching guide. Questions may be directed to Susan Mark, Wyoming State Library publications specialist, at susan.mark@wyo.gov or 307-777-5915.
