February is a month full of celebrations of groups, causes, and so much more, including Women Inventors.

Did you know the first Wyoming woman to receive a patent was Myrtle M. Wallin of Rock Springs? She received patent number 664,597 for a Work-Holder on December 25, 1900.  You can view the patent document here.

The Wyoming State Library Digital Collections Suite’s Wyoming Inventors database includes information about Wyoming’s rich history, including Wyoming inventors. The database includes records dating from 1867 and is searchable by invention, date, location, assignee, or patent number.
