World Intellectual Property Day is April 26

Mar 25, 2026

Since its inception in 2000, World Intellectual Property Day has been celebrated each year on April 26 to enhance the general public’s understanding of Intellectual property (IP) and celebrate creativity and innovation.

According to the WIPO website, Intellectual property (IP) refers to “creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce.”

This year’s theme is “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate,” and will focus on the creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs whose passion and ideas drive the future of sports.
