Announcing the 2024-2025 Winners of the Wyoming State Book Awards

Student votes have been tallied, and we are pleased to announce the winners of the 2024-2025 Wyoming Book Awards! In a most unusual voting season, there was a three-way tie for Runner-Up in both the Indian Paintbrush AND Soaring Eagle! (Stay tuned for the 2025-2026 Wyoming Book Award Nominees, which will be announced in April!)

 

Here are the winners:

Buckaroo Award Winners (Grades K-3)

Winner: Buffalo Fluffalo by Bess Kalb
Runner-Up: Fluffy McWhiskers Cuteness Explosion by Stephen W. Martin
3rd Place: Lucky Duck by Greg Pizzoli

 

Indian Paintbrush Award Winners (Grades 4-6)

Winner: Amari and the Night Brothers
Three-way tie for Runner-Up:
The Hope of Elephants by Amanda Rawson Hill
Nugly by M. C. Ross
Unplugged by Gordon Korman

 

Soaring Eagle Award Winners (Grades 7-12)

Winner: Fallout by Steve Sheinkin
Three-way tie for Runner-Up:
        The Red Palace by June Hur
        Yonder by Ali Standish
        All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir
