Back to the Beginnings of ‘Wyoming Wildlife’ Magazine

Dec 20, 2017

Just in time for the Holidays! The Wyoming State Library has digitized and made available the first year of publication of Wyoming Wildlife Magazine from 1936. These delightful editions can be viewed in Wyoming State Publications, one of our six digital collections.

The State Game and Fish Department of Wyoming began publication of Wyoming Wildlife in 1936 in order to “… carry such educational material as well as inform the public on the workings of the department; publish constructive articles on wild life conservation; briefly outline any of the rules regulations of the department involving open closed seasons; and generally to invite the cooperation of the public in the proper observance of our game and fish laws. “ — Andrew J. Martin, Commissioner, State Department of Game and Fish (Wyoming Wildlife, January –March 1936, Vols 1, Nos. 1-3).
