Becky Voss has taken over as the new Library Director for the Hinckley Library at Northwest College, replacing Nancy Miller who retired at the end of June.
She first started working for her hometown library in 2006 and hasn’t looked back. While attending Northwest College as a student, she took a position as Library Assistant and then moved to Library Coordinator—a position she has held since before accepting her latest challenge as Director.
Becky holds an A.A, in Music from Northwest College, a B.A. in Organizational Leadership from the University of Wyoming, and a Masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas.
Although the Hinckley Library has only 3 employees serving 1100 students, she sees her staff as “small but mighty” and states, “We do our best to keep our collection up-to-date and to provide the most current and accessible information for their [students’] research.”
When asked what she hoped to accomplish moving forward, she replied, “I want to make sure every student knows what we have to offer, and not to be afraid to come to us for help. The Internet can be very confusing, and our aim is to make research easier.”
She added, “I am so happy to be a part of our wonderful state library community!”
