The Wyoming State Library has welcomed a new student intern, Ethan Jensen. He’s a freshman at Laramie County Community College who plans to major in cybersecurity. He was homeschooled during high school.

While at the WSL, Ethan will be working on several projects for the Information Services office. He’ll be involved in state government documents digitization and collection maintenance. He’ll also add metadata to Wyoming Places, adding alt-text to images in the site calendar so they’re more easily searchable on Google. This will increase discovery and accessibility.

“I always wanted to work at a library,” Ethan said. “I hope this internship will help me become more acquainted with computers and customer service.”

Ethan plans to pursue computer programming, graphic design, and cybersecurity. In his free time, he enjoys drawing, writing, and reading. He hopes to learn job skills at the State Library to use when he moves into the paid workforce.

“We’re very excited to have Ethan here as an intern,” said Abby Beaver, Information Services Manager. “It’s always fun to work with aspiring librarians and find out what their interests are. So far, Ethan has been a pleasure to get to know. He is a diligent and thoughtful person.”
