Free Aspen Webinar for WYLD Library Professionals

The Wyoming State Library’s WYLD Office will host an Aspen Webinar on September 24 at 10:30 AM  for WYLD library professionals. This session will be recorded and available later in the week for those unable to attend the live session We’ll be exploring the essentials of Aspen administration, how to use these tools to enhance your patrons’ experience, and ways your patrons can fully utilize Aspen’s features.
Here’s a detailed overview of what we’ll be covering:

Administrative Essentials:

    • Menu Links: Configuration and management
    • Browse Categories: Effective organization and updates
    • Hours/Location: Ensuring accurate library information
    • System Messages: Customizing and managing messages
    • Themes: Personalizing the Aspen interface
 Patron Experience:
  • Searching in Aspen: Utilizing keyword dropdowns, filters, and navigation through author, series, and subject links
  • My Account Settings: Managing reading history, linked accounts, and digital library cards
  • Lists: Creating curated lists for patrons to find materials or for patrons to track their reading.
  • Aspen Recommendations: titles recommended based on books on hold, checked out, reading history, and user ratings
  • User Ratings: Using user ratings to generate more tailored recommendations
