Heart Mountain in the News

May 20, 2018

The Heart Mountain Japanese-American Internment Camp is once again in the news. WREN (Wyoming Rural Electric News) published an article on Estelle Ishigo in its April 2018 issue.

Ishigo’s husband was Japanese-American. When he was relocated to Heart Mountain during World War II, she went with him and recorded life at the camp in her sketches, many of which were used in the Wyoming State Library’s Heart Mountain online exhibit, part of Wyoming Newspapers.

The WREN article was written by Thomas Ivie, WSL Research & Statistics Librarian.

See the April issue and other back issues of the magazine in the WREN archives.
