Laramie County Library System seeks a confident leader and dynamic professional as its next County Librarian.
Responsibilities: The County Librarian will administer all aspects of LCLS to ensure service to all citizens as outlined in the library’s mission statement in a responsible, efficient, and effective manner; serve as the Board of Directors’ agent in administering library programs, personnel, and finances to provide patrons with exceptional service and resources relevant to community needs; provide technical expertise and advice to the Board of Directors to facilitate long-range planning and act as the library’s chief spokesperson for enhancing the role of the library in the community; plan, organize, direct, and manage library services in conformity with the policies established by the Board of Directors, the laws of the State of Wyoming, and the United States; and be a role model of exceptional public service for all employees as well as represent the library in a professional and appropriate manner both at work and in the community. Qualifications: A master’s degree in library science (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution and five (5) years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience are required. The ideal candidate will embrace the creativity and ideas of others, have some experience with change management practices, and possess a sense of humor in their support of a fun work environment.
